Conshohocken mourns local man killed in I-476 dump truck crash

The Borough is starting the week with heavy news. 6ABC Action News reported on August 27th that Josh Adens, a 28-year-old Conshohocken resident, was killed after the dump truck he was operating crashed on I-476. MoreThanTheCurve picked up the story the following day, and NBC10 and 6ABC have both confirmed the identification.

There is not much to add here that would not be speculation. A young neighbor is gone. The stretch of 476 that so many of us treat as background noise on the school run was, for one family, the worst place in the world last week. If you knew Josh or his people, this is the sort of morning when a knock on a door with a casserole is worth more than any headline we could write.

Stuffed Pasta Week kicks off today at Bar Lucca

If Monday needs a bribe, Bar Lucca is offering one. From today, August 31st, through Saturday, September 5th, the Fayette Street mainstay is running Stuffed Pasta Week, with three rotating specials on the menu all week.

Conshy's dining scene keeps drawing regional attention (MONTCO.Today recently called Fayette Street the region's most explosive dining destination, which, well, yes), and weeks like this are why. A kid-friendly early sitting followed by a plate of something folded, filled and sauced is not a bad way to close out the last unofficial week of summer.

West Conshohocken hunting for a new chief of police

Across the river, the Borough of West Conshohocken has opened the search for a new chief of police, as MoreThanTheCurve reported last week. Sal Carfango has been serving as interim chief while the borough works through the hiring process.

Small-borough policing is one of those jobs where the title sounds bigger than the department it leads, and the trade-off is that the person who takes it ends up personally known to a big chunk of the community. Worth watching who applies, because in a town this size the chief is also the neighbor at the block party.

Plymouth Meeting's Gavin Ruta headed to Lehigh baseball

A quick bit of good news from the Plymouth Meeting side of things. Lehigh University announced its incoming baseball class for 2026-2027, and Plymouth Meeting's Gavin Ruta, an outfielder, is on the list.

Every kid we send off to college ball is worth a small standing ovation from the neighborhood. Enjoy the last few home dinners, Gavin. Patriot League springs are cold.

Plymouth Township arrest follows daytime home burglary

One to keep in mind as families ease back into school-year routines. On August 26th, Plymouth Township Police announced an arrest made two days earlier in connection with an alleged daytime burglary at a home where a family was present. Patch's follow-up reporting notes a woman and her children hid in a bathroom, on the phone with dispatch, as the incident unfolded.

The reminder writes itself. Side doors get overlooked, and it is worth another five-minute walk-around of your own house tonight. Locks, lights, and a plan the kids actually know.
