Conshohocken Borough Council meets tonight at 7 PM

·

Conshohocken Borough Council holds its regularly scheduled public meeting tonight, Wednesday, October 21, at 7 p.m. The borough posted the notice on its news page. The excerpt we have does not spell out the agenda, so check the borough site if you want specifics. Council meetings are one of the few places where you can watch local decisions get made in real time, which I guess is the whole point.

Local News

Home rule charter question is on the Conshohocken ballot

·

MoreThanTheCurve published an opinion piece on Tuesday about a home rule charter that is on the ballot in Conshohocken. The site labeled it opinion because it offers its own views on the issue, so read it with that in mind. The general election is November 3. Patch lists official Pennsylvania resources for finding your polling place, checking your registration, and looking up absentee, mail and early voting.

Community Spotlight

Flocco's celebrates 100 years on Fayette Street

·

Flocco's Shoes, Clothes & Formalwear has called Fayette Street in Conshohocken home for 100 years and will mark the 100th anniversary on Sunday, October 25, according to MoreThanTheCurve. The snippet we saw did not include a schedule for the day. Staying in one spot for a century is a serious run for any shop, and it has outlasted a lot of fashion trends along the way.

Safety

Police watch school bus routes today for Operation Safe Stop

·

The Conshohocken Police Department is conducting Operation Safe Stop today, Wednesday, October 21, to promote school bus safety, MoreThanTheCurve reported. Officers will be monitoring school bus routes. If you drive near a bus stop on the morning or afternoon run, leave a little extra time and keep your eyes up.
