Sutcliffe Park playground closes today for a full makeover

Mark your calendar, or rather, redirect your stroller. The Borough of Conshohocken has confirmed that the playground and pavilions at Sutcliffe Park close starting today, June 2nd, for a makeover. Translation for the under-7 set: the swings are going on vacation.

The borough has not announced a reopening date in the materials we have, which is the kind of detail parents tend to want immediately. We will keep an eye on the official channel and pass along the timeline as soon as it lands. For now, it is worth planning your morning walks around the closure and pointing tiny humans toward one of the borough's other parks.

Borough rolls out the 2026 free summer concert series

Free music, outside, with kids running around. The borough has announced its 2026 Summer Concert Series with dates and artists locked in, which is the kind of thing that quietly fills up a family calendar in the best way. No tickets, no fuss, just bring a blanket and the small humans.

Specific lineup details are over at Patch. Plan around bedtime accordingly.

Arts Festival and Conshy Classic Bike Race take over Fayette this Saturday

This is the kind of Saturday that makes Fayette Street worth living near. The 2026 Conshohocken Arts Festival and Car Show runs alongside the Conshy Classic Bike Race on June 6th, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and it is free. Artists, crafters, food vendors, two stages of live music, games, classic cars, and bikes whipping by. Something for the kid who wants face paint and something for the parent who wants to stare at a 1967 Mustang.

Strollers welcome, dogs probably welcome, patience with crowds required. Details via the event listing.

Data center zoning hearing set for June 25th at the former steel plant site

The proposed data center at the former steel plant at 900 Washington Street is back on the agenda. Plymouth Township has set the zoning hearing for June 25th, and county and state zoning guidance currently recommends allowing data centers in heavy industrial districts, which is exactly the zoning classification on that parcel. So the table is, shall we say, set in a particular way before the conversation even begins.

If you have opinions about traffic, noise, power demand, or the long-term identity of that stretch of riverfront, this is the meeting where the technical arguments get made. Background from MoreThanTheCurve.

Multi-vehicle crash on New Elm leads to charges

A three-vehicle crash on May 27th around 7:49 PM along New Elm Street in the Plymouth Township portion of Conshohocken has led to charges against a driver. A solid reminder that the New Elm stretch carries real traffic at all hours, and that the school-pickup crowd shares it with delivery trucks and commuters. Slow down, look twice, the usual sermon.
