Prince of Egypt Comes to Conshy's Parks This Weekend

· · 1 min read

Conshohocken Theater in the Parks kicks off its production of The Prince of Egypt tonight, with performances running July 24-25 and again July 31 through August 1. This is the community theater group's big summer show, staged outdoors, family-friendly, and free to attend under the stars. Bring a blanket, bring the kids, and bring bug spray because it is July in the Schuylkill Valley and the mosquitoes have a season pass.

The show is announced through the Colonial School District's community bulletin, which if you have kids in the district you already know is basically the town's unofficial refrigerator. Details on exact locations and start times are posted at the district's community announcements page, so check before you pack the folding chairs. More info here.

For a town that spends a lot of ink on office tower sales and data center fights lately, it is nice to have a story that is just, well, people singing in a park. I'll take it.

The company's origin story is well-worn at this point but still worth repeating: co-founder Rob Huberty and a group of fellow SEALs watched surveillance footage from the 2018 Parkland shooting and decided the software should have been smarter. That idea became a business, and that business is now one of Conshy's most-watched employers. Read more at MONTCO.Today.

For families in the borough, the practical read is simple. When a local company adds triple-digit headcount, it shows up eventually in coffee shop lines, youth sports rosters, and the housing market. Worth watching.
