Funfest Takes Over Fayette Street Saturday for Its 33rd Run

· · 1 min read

Nine blocks of Fayette closed, a Family Zone stuffed with face painters, balloon artists, sand art, inflatables, and a touch-a-truck, plus live music, food trucks, and more than a hundred vendors. Conshohocken Funfest returns Saturday, September 19, from noon to 8:00 p.m. for its 33rd edition. Yes, thirty-third. This thing predates most of the apartment towers now looming over it.

The Family Zone is the reason to bring the kids early, before the crowds thicken and the strollers start playing bumper cars near the funnel cake line. If you have never done Funfest, the trick is to park somewhere sensible, walk in, and accept that you will run into every neighbor you have ever had.

Details and the full lineup are posted by the Borough at conshohockenpa.gov, and MoreThanTheCurve has additional coverage here.

Plymouth Township Scraps Data Center Zoning Hearing After Missing an Agenda Deadline

·

File this under quietly consequential. Plymouth Township canceled a zoning hearing tied to a proposed data center after MoreThanTheCurve reported the Township had not posted the meeting agenda 24 hours ahead of time, as the Pennsylvania Sunshine Act requires. The hearing had been scheduled for September 17 at 7:00 p.m.

Small procedural miss, big practical implication. Data center proposals across the region have been drawing rooms full of residents lately, and the notice rules exist precisely so those residents can show up prepared. Skipping the posting and then holding the hearing anyway would have handed opponents a ready-made legal cudgel. Canceling it is the tidier outcome, even if it means everyone reconvenes on another Tuesday night.

Goodness Bowls Lands the Old La Bella Moda Space for Its New HQ

·

Another local win for the borough storefront ledger. Goodness Bowls, the health-forward bowl concept that has quietly built a following, is moving into the former La Bella Moda site as its new headquarters, according to MONTCO.Today. If you have watched that block wondering what was next, now you know.

Two things worth noting. First, a Conshohocken-grown food brand picking Conshohocken as HQ is exactly the kind of retention story the Borough likes to point at. Second, the La Bella Moda footprint has a lot of character, and it will be interesting to see what a bowl company does with it.
