MoreThanTheCurve, which broke the news, put it this way in its report:
The Conshohocken Cab will take its final lonely ride around Conshohocken at the end of 2026. The little-used service launched...
Let's dissect that, because the adjectives are doing a lot of work. "Little-used" is the whole policy argument in two words. "Lonely" is the editorial comment. I guess a cab with no passengers is just a very slow car with a light on top.
Here is what I can tell you. The service ends at the close of this year, and the people covering it describe it as lightly used. What I cannot tell you is who ran it, what it cost, or what replaces it, because the material in front of me stops mid-sentence. I am not going to guess. Guessing is how you end up quoted in the wrong place.
The family-level takeaway is simple. If anyone in your house has ever counted on it, whether for a grandparent, a teenager, or a Saturday when the car was in the shop, you have about three months to line up a Plan B. Check with the borough before the holidays, not on December 31st. Now my biases are obvious: I like a public service more when I can find out how to use it.
