Hallowell Street faces four to six weeks of paving and concrete work

·

The Borough of Conshohocken has announced paving and concrete work on Hallowell Street, expected to last four to six weeks, MoreThanTheCurve reports. Neighbors and drivers should plan for a longer stretch of cones than a quick patch job.

Four to six weeks is the kind of range that tells you nobody wants to promise a specific Tuesday. Check the borough website for updates before you commit to a parking plan.

Local News

Borough Hall closes Monday and trash pickup shifts

·

Conshohocken Borough Hall will be closed on Monday, October 12, 2026, according to the borough's news page. Public Services will operate on a holiday collection schedule, so trash and recycling pickup will be modified that week.

The borough posts the specifics, and I would check them before wheeling the bins to the curb on the wrong morning. Your neighbors will notice, and they will have opinions.

Goodness Bowls picks a former La Bella Moda site for new headquarters

·

Goodness Bowls has chosen the former La Bella Moda site in Conshohocken as its new headquarters, according to a MONTCO.Today report from August. The headline is all we have to go on from the material in front of us, so details like timing are best confirmed with the company.

Still, a local business picking a local address to call home is a nice change from the usual headline about where things are leaving.

Local News

Whitemarsh supervisors to weigh $12 million for Plymouth Meeting quarry preservation

·

The Whitemarsh Township Board of Supervisors meets Thursday, October 8, and will consider a $12 million contribution toward preserving a 67-acre quarry property in Plymouth Meeting, MoreThanTheCurve reports.

Twelve million dollars is a lot to spend on a quarry, I guess, but 67 acres of open land is not nothing around here. We will watch for what the board decides.

Colonial School District lands near the top of Niche's local rankings

·

Niche has released its rankings of Philadelphia area school districts, and MoreThanTheCurve reports that Colonial School District ranks above all nearby districts except the ones on the Main Line.

Patch also ran a piece on how Colonial scored compared with its neighbors. Rankings are one number, of course, and every parent knows a school is more than that.
