Conshohocken Police Ask Public to Help Identify Assault Suspect

·

Conshohocken police are asking for the public's help identifying a man connected to an assault. Patch reports the attack happened at the Conshohocken VFW, and MoreThanTheCurve carried the department's request on Friday. The details we have are thin, so we will not guess at the rest. If you recognize the man, contact the Conshohocken Police Department directly. A sharp-eyed neighbor has solved stranger things, I guess.

Do Not Eat Advisory Issued for Wissahickon Creek Fish

·

State agencies have issued a "Do Not Eat" advisory for fish from the Wissahickon Creek Basin. The Pennsylvania Departments of Environmental Protection and Health and the Fish and Boat Commission announced it October 7, according to MoreThanTheCurve. WHYY reports regulators found high levels of PFAS chemicals in fish tissue from the creek and its tributaries. Anglers in the family should skip the fish fry for this one.

Colonial School District Tops Nearby Districts in Niche Rankings

·

Colonial School District ranks above every nearby district in Niche's latest rankings of Philadelphia-area schools, with one big exception. The districts on the Main Line still come out ahead, according to MoreThanTheCurve. Patch also ran a comparison with neighboring districts. Second place to the Main Line is a position many of us would happily accept at the next school board meeting.

Whitemarsh Planners to Review Apartments Near Fort Washington Station

·

The Whitemarsh Township Planning Commission will review a sketch plan from the Hankin Group on Tuesday, October 13. The plan involves apartments and retail development next to the Fort Washington train station, per MoreThanTheCurve. A sketch plan is an early look, well before any final approvals. Neighbors who care about traffic and train-station parking may want to watch the agenda.
